The Lord & Taylor Landmark

Shaver Hall is housed within the former Lord & Taylor flagship, a celebrated New York City landmark that first opened in 1914. The 11-story building was designed by Starrett & van Vleck in the Italian Renaissance Revival style and remains one of Fifth Avenue’s most distinguished architectural buildings.

Defined by its carved limestone façade, metalwork, grand entrances, and famed display windows, the building once symbolized the golden age of New York retail.

Today, those historic bones remain central to the experience, grounding Shaver Hall in an experience that only New York can deliver.

Today

Midtown East’s New Culinary &
Cultural Pulse

Today, Shaver Hall lives at the crossroads of Midtown, a short walk from Bryant Park and Grand Central, surrounded by the city’s constant motion. It’s where New Yorkers drop in, linger longer than planned, and come back again. Anchored by two full-service restaurants, a main bar, and a tightly curated lineup of culinary concepts, the experience shifts throughout the day and into the evening. Designed by ZGF, the space weaves in architectural details that nod to the building’s retail past—canopies above food stalls, fashion-inspired signage—reimagined for a distinctly modern future.

With live performances, cultural moments, and a stage that keeps the energy moving, Shaver Hall is built for how New Yorkers actually live: quick lunches, spontaneous meet-ups, after-work drinks that turn into memorable nights out. Always buzzing. Always in motion.

Historic bones. Modern rhythm. Pure New York.
